New for 2011

These paintings are a response to the landscape of in a part of the country that was new to me. I'd been north of 60 once before but never in the Yukon. In early spring there is not a lot of color but rather vast larger than life vistas of monochromatic tones. As the sun broke through daily the patterns of rock and snow changed. Spashes of warmth gradually emerged.
