Figuration
New for 2011

These paintings are a response to my on-going studies of the figure. My influences are as varied as the content. Most paintings are done from the live model. The inpressions are direct and immediate. No second guessing a line or stroke. I suppose the biggest challenge in any figure session is making a lasting impression, not just a visual record but rather what the model is "about". If you can distill that moment you are in the right direction. That challenge is unending.
