The Flatcar Paintings

Content for these paintings involve examining degeneration and regeneration of surfaces. I explore the idea of the evanescence of life and impermanence of all things.

Walking along a drawn-out railway line of flatcars, focuses attention on every next step. Each stride unveils a countless strata of decomposing metal, paint, and wood. Rust marks and the beginning of the surface decay forms the basis of these investigations in paint. The wind, sun, and weather sculpt a new view that preoccupies my mind.
