The Ice Series of Paintings by Verne Busby mixed media on canvas and paper.

The content of this group of paintings is based on views I experienced looking through the ice of a frozen skating pond in December. Clear ice forms an interface between the frozen world above, bathed in light, and the organic forms at rest beneath in the darker watery world. Imaginary worlds come to life with the application of paint.
