Prairie Abstracts

A few years ago
"maps.google.com" gave us a radical new view of our familiar space. Similarly the look of my paintings pushed to flatten the planes and create flatter two dimensional shape relationships. Re-inventing the thought of landscape has changed the content of my works, forcing a re-examination of of whate is before me. The painting grows dependent upon the tension suggested by these landforms. It feels good to let go of perspective.
